I was born into a family that already met with the local church. In fact, I am a fourth generation church kid. While I thoroughly enjoyed meeting with the local church during my junior high years (when I was beginning to be old enough to appreciate my heritage), I nevertheless grew more and more rebellious as most teenagers do. By the end of my second year in college, I fell to a point where God was just something objective to me. I still believed that He did exist, but He did not have much to do with my life. As such, meeting with the local church, or any believers for that matter, seemed to be pointless, so I slowly stopped coming. In the summer after my third year of college while attending a one week conference under the ministry of Witness Lee, my life took a revolutionary turn. In that conference, God was pleased to reveal His Son in me (Gal. 1:15-16) and Jesus Christ became so real to me, more real than anything I could see or touch. Jesus Christ was living and He was living inside of me, and it was only by His far reaching mercy that He chose this fallen, sinful enemy of God. In tears I repented of my former manner of life and consecrated my life to my Lord Jesus Christ. Immediately, I dove into the church life in the local church in Montreal. It was here that my turn to the Lord really began to be strengthened and solidified. I also experienced a deeper pursuit of the Lord, both corporately in the local church with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart (2 Timothy 2:22), and personally, especially by immersing myself in the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. By the Lord's mercy, I am still taking root here and continuing to grow. It is here in the house of God that I have chosen to dwell all the days of my life.
